Why a small-area test matters, how to make time for it, and when to stop and seek advice.

Why test first

A patch test helps you check for an unexpected skin response before using more product. Follow the label’s patch-test directions and allow the full stated observation period.

Do not improvise

Use only the amount, area and timing described on the approved label. Do not combine products or apply to broken, irritated or recently tattooed skin unless the label specifically allows it.

Know when to stop

Stop use if irritation occurs. If you feel unwell, notice a serious reaction or are unsure whether the product is suitable for you, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist. In an emergency, call 000.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Incorrect use could be harmful. This article is general information, not medical advice.
